Cat6a network cables enable 10-Gigabit data transmission over a 4-connector twisted-pair copper cable, allowing connection distances of up to 100 meters. Current Cat6 cabling systems may only support 10-Gigabit Ethernet over limited distances. The Cat6a draft extends the Cat6 electrical specifications from 250 MHz to 500 MHz. It also proposes a new measurement for Power-Sum Alien Crosstalk to 500 MHz. Alien Crosstalk is a coupled signal in a disturbed pair arising from a signal in a neighboring cable. Features Ideal for VoIP and IP video. Supports 10GBASE-T and all applications designed for CAT6a or lower cabling. A center isolation member maintains pair separation for optimal NEXT performance. In the past, if you wanted to run Ethernet from your workstations and hubs, you had to consider the expense of converting your entire building's Type 1 cable plant to UTP cabling. Now you can leave your cable plant in place and simply use these baluns to convert from the Token Ring data connector at the wall plate to RJ45 UTP cabling. Simply plug the balun's data connector end into the Type 1 wall plate jack and plug in your 100 Base-TX Ethernet device (NIC, hub, etc.) into the RJ45 end of the balun with a standard Category 5 patch cable. The balun matches impedances of a 100 Ohm RJ45 terminated cable and a 150 Ohm STP cable (cable plant), and achieves frequencies up to 100Mhz.
